Jussi Vimpari, PhD, Apex Heat CEO
“Apex Heat has helped hundreds of Finnish property owners find the best heating solutions and optimal solar panel systems for themselves. Our recommendation system is based on my research conducted at Aalto University.”
Study: geothermal heat pumps can significantly increase the value of detached houses
A geothermal heat pump increases the selling price of a detached house by approximately 5.3 percent, according to a recent study from Aalto University.
“If a homeowner is considering an energy renovation, they naturally think about how well a €20,000 geothermal system will pay for itself,” says Jussi Vimpari, a visiting researcher at Aalto University and the study’s author.
“Energy costs decrease annually, but if the house needs to be sold for some reason sooner, it’s good to know whether the investment can be recouped.”
Study: heat pump is highly profitable even without investment aid
A heat pump can produce up to four units of heat for each unit of electricity used. It is therefore highly energy-efficient and clearly the most cost-effective heating method.
"For example, the annual percentage return of a heat pump compared to rental yields of a property can be several times higher. It might be more sensible to allocate resources to awareness campaigns and advisory services,” says Jussi Vimpari.
