Kartuttamo Invest invests to Apex Heatin
Kartuttamo Invest’s investment gives Apex Heat the resources to accelerate product development, acquire pioneer customers, and prepare for international growth. 100 million buildings in Europe are in need of energy renovations – Apex Heat has built a tool that makes these renovations understandable and actionable.
Heating in buildings is a decisive issue from the perspective of climate change: it accounts for up to one third of all greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs. To meet Europe’s climate targets, a massive effort lies ahead – around 100 million buildings will need energy renovations in the coming decades.
Apex Heat App is a tool that brings energy efficiency planning into today’s world. It automates complex data processing, calculates the profitability of investments, and clearly visualizes the effects of energy savings, enabling both experts and property owners to make informed decisions. According to customer feedback, the software saves up to 20 hours of work in energy investment planning – and also helps identify reasonable additional investments, for example in housing company renovation projects.
Now, we want to take development to the next level. That’s why we partnered with Kartuttamo. Our CEO Jussi Vimpari summarizes the collaboration as follows: “Kartuttamo has experience in growing an idea into a widely used service. They know the energy sector networks that can speed up our sales and help us find pioneer customers to further develop the software. Kartuttamo also brings valuable capital that enables us to invest in product development – for example, for energy certificate calculations and expanding the software across European markets.”
With the investment, we’re focusing on the following steps:
- Pioneer customers and co-development: We are actively seeking trailblazing customers with whom we can develop the software for various engineering needs – from energy audits to investment planning and beyond.
- Official energy certificate functionality: Tens of thousands of energy certificates are issued in Finland each year. We’re developing the application so that energy certificate calculation can be carried out smoothly in the same process, and so that concrete and sensible investment options can be identified already at the certificate stage.
- Preparing for the European market: Currently, our software is in use in Finland, but Europe holds multiplied potential. Kartuttamo’s support prepares us to expand and scale our technology for Europe-wide use.
Building energy efficiency is not a marginal issue – it’s one of the fastest and most effective ways to reduce emissions and costs simultaneously. Kartuttamo’s investment gives us even greater opportunities to make this vision a reality: to widen the use of our software in Finland, deepen its capabilities, and bring it to serve all of Europe.
